Gardening in the PNW

To plant a garden is to believe in the hope of tomorrow Audrey Hepburn

I was so thrilled that so many of you were interested in knowing about what to plant out now and what to wait on. I thought I would share on here what I had shared in stories, giving you some guidance so that it’s easily accessible for you at any time. While this isn’t an exhaustive list, I wanted to share about the main veggies/flowers that people will be planting during the growing season ahead. I hope it is helpful and useful to you. Additionally, I am always here and happy to answer any questions you might have. If I don’t have the answer I bet I can point you in the right direction of a resource to get what info you are looking for.

Here are the things you can plant outside NOW both plants and seeds:

Cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprout, cauliflower, Kol rabi

potatoes, onions, carrots, beets, chard, lettuce, spinach, bok Choy, peas, turnips, radish, parsley and cilantro.

Come middle of May you can plant out the following:

Tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, yellow neck squash, corn, pumpkins, cucumber, beans, Winter squash and annual flowers.

What are you planting in your garden this year? Is there something in particular that you’re extra excited about? Anything you are nervous to grow?

A HUGE thank you to my Dad, who happily talked through all this info. with me because I wanted to make sure I was giving you all accurate information. :)

Happy gardening and growing friends.
